Frequently asked questions about Aerosmart professional DJI drone solutions

Frequently Asked Questions

Buying and Delivery

  1. Is Aerosmart an authorised DJI dealer?

Yes. Aerosmart Africa is an authorised DJI Enterprise and DJI Agriculture dealer. Our parent company has held DJI authorisation since 2015. Every product we supply includes a genuine DJI warranty, current firmware, and official serial-number documentation.

  2. Which African countries do you deliver to?

We deliver across 14+ African markets, including Chad, Côte d'Ivoire, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Mali, Mozambique, Namibia, Nigeria, the Republic of the Congo, Rwanda, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, Tanzania, The Gambia, Togo, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.

  3. Do you handle export documentation and customs?

Yes. Every shipment includes complete export documentation. We also provide import-duty guidance and customs-clearance advice for each destination market.

  4. Why should I buy from an authorised dealer rather than a cheaper source?

Grey-market products may not include a valid manufacturer warranty, may use firmware that cannot be updated through official channels, and may lack the serial-number documentation required for aviation authority registration. The apparent saving is small compared with the operational and regulatory risk.

  5. Can I buy a single drone, or do you only supply fleets?

Both. We support single-unit purchases as well as complete multi-aircraft fleet programmes, with configuration assistance available for either requirement.

  6. Do you offer fleet or bulk pricing?

Yes. Contact our team for multi-unit and fleet pricing, including bundled aircraft, payload, software, accessories, and training packages.

Products

  1. Which drone is right for my application?

The right platform depends on what you need to measure, inspect, spray, map, or document. Contact our team with your application requirements, and we will recommend a suitable aircraft, payload, software, and accessory configuration. Pre-sale technical consultation is included with every enquiry.

  2. What is the difference between enterprise drones and camera drones?

Enterprise drones are designed for professional operations and may include higher environmental protection, extended endurance under payload, modular payload compatibility, redundant safety systems, and documentation required for commercial registration. Camera drones are primarily designed for aerial photography, filmmaking, and content production.

  3. Which payload do I need?

Thermal payloads are used for inspection, public safety, and detection. LiDAR is suitable for surveying through vegetation and capturing complex geometry. Photogrammetry payloads are used for orthophotos, terrain models, and 3D reconstruction, while multispectral payloads support crop-health analysis and precision agriculture. Our team matches the payload to your application before purchase.

  4. Do you supply agriculture drones?

Yes. Aerosmart supplies the DJI Agras range, including the T100, T50, and T25, together with the Mavic 3 Multispectral for crop-health mapping and DJI Terra software for generating variable-rate prescription maps.

  5. Do you supply software as well as hardware?

Yes. Aerosmart supplies DJI FlightHub 2, DJI Terra, DJI Modify, PIX4Dmatic, and PIX4Dsurvey, together with licence activation, configuration, and workflow training.

  6. What is DJI Care Enterprise Plus?

DJI Care Enterprise Plus is a manufacturer support programme that provides repair coverage within the applicable coverage limit, battery replacement benefits, shared fleet coverage, and free two-way shipping, subject to the selected plan and regional terms. Aerosmart handles activation and claim support directly.

Training

  1. Do you provide drone training?

Yes. Aerosmart Academy delivers commercial pilot certification, enterprise platform operations, survey and mapping, LiDAR processing, DJI Dock autonomous operations, industrial inspection, agricultural operations, and processing-software training.

  2. Where does the training take place?

Training is available at the Nairobi Academy, on-site at your facility across 14+ African markets, or remotely for theory and software-based modules.

  3. Which languages are available for training?

Training can be delivered in English, French, and Arabic.

  4. Will I train on the same equipment that I will operate?

Yes. Training is delivered on genuine DJI Enterprise equipment matched to your intended deployment. We do not use consumer aircraft as a substitute for professional enterprise platforms.

  5. Is training included with the equipment purchase?

Basic onboarding support is included. Full certification, specialist operational programmes, and advanced software training are quoted separately. Bundled equipment and training packages are also available.
